Daniel defies cancer to prestige art exhibition

A BUDDING young artist who has defied cancer to follow his dream spoke this week of his delight at having his work put on display by prestigious auction house Christie’s.

Daniel Barnett (18), from Badsley Moor Lane, Clifton,  who has been battling against a tumour in his pelvis since he was 14, was in London last weekend to see his work exhibited.

The teenager now has lung disease and kidney failure but is pressing on with an art foundation course after achieving a Grade A in his art A Level last year.

And he was delighted that to see his work given a wider audience after charity Rays of Sunshine organised the exhibition at Christie’s.
