Dad fined for using disabled son's blue badge

A DAD who used his disabled son’s blue parking badge while the youngster was at school has been fined £65.

Darren Brunt, aged 44, of Locksley Drive, Thurcroft, pleaded guilty by post at Rotherham Magistrates Court, to using the blue badge on Wellgate on December 14.

Brunt told the court that he was a diabetic and had been forced to stop where he did because of his low blood sugar level.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £15.

 

Shazia Younis also pleaded guilty by post and apologised to the court after admitting parking on Wharncliffe Street on January 5 and using her son's blue badge whist her son was in school.

 

Younis, aged 35, of Chaucer Road, Rotherham was fined £65, ordered to pay costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £15.
