Customers flee as Rotherham post office raided

CUSTOMERS fled as crowbar-wielding thugs burst into a Rotherham post office and demanded cash today.
But the raiders fled empty-handed after quick-thinking staff at the post office in Bawtry Road, Wickersley, locked themselves behind a glass screen and called the police.
A spokesman for the force said the two men ran off towards Morthern Road leaving staff unhurt, but very shaken.
One of the raiders was around 5ft 10ins tall, of average build, and was wearing a grey/green coat with the hood up.
The other man was around 5ft 8ins tall.
Both men are believed to be in their 20s.
Det Sgt Ian Profitt urged the two customers who fled to contact him and appealed for other witnesses to get in touch.
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Profitt on 01709 832261.
