Customer foils potential armed robbery in Rawmarsh

A WOULD-be armed robber left a Rawmarsh shop empty-handed after a customer intervened.

Police were called to the McColls store in Kilnhurst Road at 5.37pm yesterday (Wednesday) following reports of a robbery, a police spokeswoman said.

"It is believed a man entered the store brandishing a knife and threatened a customer, while demanding money from the cashier," she said.
