Criminal damage at Maltby's Roche Abbey after 'illegal metal detecting'

Police received reports of two incidents of digging and illegal metal detecting activity believed to have been committed between December 11 and 18.

Multiple holes were dug, causing damage to the grounds of the Grade-II listed medieval monument, said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police.

Officers are urging witnesses to come forward and help find those responsible.
