Crews tackle three deliberate bin fires in Maltby

ARSONISTS set fire to three bins across three hours in Maltby last night. 

Firefighters first attended a wheelie bin fire at 8.10pm on Tennyson Road, which was believed to have been started deliberately. The crew left the scene at 8.25pm.

A wheelie bin was later deliberately set on fire on Firth Crescent, at 10.40pm. 

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and rescue said: “The fire had spread to a fence when firefighters from Maltby station arrived at the scene. The crew came away at 10.55pm.”

Fifteen minutes later, firefighters attended a deliberate fire involving a wheelie bin and fence at 11.10pm on Alexandra Street, leaving at 11.25pm.
