Crash closes road

BOTH lanes of a dual carriageway have been closed due to a collision which has left a motorist trapped inside a vehicle.

Firefighters from Rotherham Fire Station were working this morning to free the stricken driver who was trapped in the heavily damaged car on East Bawtry Road, between Whiston cross-roads and Worry Goose Island.

Eyewitnesses have suggested that the car may have colhit a tree at around 8.35am this  morning.
