"The car parks and roads have been gritted and we are doing our best to keep the sites clear of snow. If you have an appointment and are able to get to your allocating site, please still attend at your appointment time. We have staff and volunteers on site helping patients."

The spokesperson added that if you are unable to make your appointment, there is no need to call - and said: "We have a list of the patients due in for their vaccine and will make direct contact with people who are unable to make it, to rearrange their appointment.

"No-one will miss their opportunity for the vaccine, so please don't worry."

The CCG will be putting out updates through their Facebook page NHS Rotherham Clinical Commissioning Group - CCG | Facebook throughout the day to try and reach as many people as possible.
