ROTHERHAM’S Covid infection rate has fallen for the first time in seven weeks — and hospital in-patient numbers also continue to fall.

The borough’s seven-day infection rate up to last Thursday was 372.9 per 100,000 people — down from the previous week’s figure of 440.8.

However, the borough’s rate was still well above the UK average of 297.1.
