Covid vaccine walk-in sessions on offer in Rotherham and Dearne Valley this weekend

COVID first dose vaccines are being offered to residents in Rotherham and the Dearne Valley as part of a host of walk-in sessions happening this weekend.

The Rotherham NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Doncaster CCG are inviting anyone aged 18 or over to attend one of the walk-in clinics, with no need to book.

Rotherham CCG are hosting sessions at Rawmarsh Health Centre from 9am until 11.30am on Saturday, and another from 8.30am to 5pm on Sunday at Rotherham Leisure Complex on St Ann's Road.

Doncaster CCG are putting on a drop-in session for Dearne Valley residents at Dearne Valley Leisure Centre from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday.

The Rotherham CCG said that they were offering only first doses with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine at their walk-ins in Rotherham.

A spokesperson added: "Please bring ID proof of age - we are only able to vaccinate over-19s at these two walk-in sessions.

"Come along this weekend and help protect yourself and those around you from the virus."

Doncaster CCG said they would be offering both first and second doses of the vaccine but added: "If you are due for your second dose, it must have been eight weeks since your first jab).

"All of our sites are offering both Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs. You do not have to be registered with a GP but must be a Doncaster resident - students home from university are also welcome to attend."
