Covid numbers continue to fall

A spokesperson for The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said as of Wednesday, the hospital was treating 70 inpatients - down two from last week - six of whom were in critical care.

Within the last week, 11 people have died who tested positive for the virus.

In total, the hospital has treated 2,325 patients who have tested positive for Covid-19, 553 have died and 1,625 people have been discharged.

Rotherham’s infection rate also fell by four per cent compared to the previous week. As of Sunday, the figure stood at 213.3 per 100,000 people.

According to latest data from the Office for National Statistics, there has been 730 coronavirus deaths in Rotherham.
