Covid hospital deaths and positive cases fall in Rotherham

DEATHS of Covid-19 positive patients at Rotherham Hospital fell by a third over the past week.

The number of people who died after a positive Covid test dropped from seven to two, while positive cases in the borough dropped nearly 17 per cent to 217. 

As of this morning, the number of inpatients being treated with the virus at the hospital was up slightly to 23 (compared to 22 last week), with one person in critical care. 

The total number of inpatients who have tested positive since Covid-19 began is now 4,860.

More than 85 per cent of the population in Rotherham aged over 12 have had their first dose of the vaccine, 81.7 per cent have had their second and 65 per cent have received a booster jab.
