Covid deaths and patient numbers on rise in Rotherham

Patient numbers are also on the rise at the hospital, as are positive cases in the borough.

As of this morning, the number of inpatients being treated with the virus was 97 — up from 72 last week — with none in critical care at the hospital.

In the last seven days, 2,018 people have tested positive in the borough — up more than 13 per cent.

The total number of inpatients who have tested positive since Covid-19 began is now 4,455.

Eighty six per cent of the population in Rotherham aged over 12 have had their first dose of the vaccine, nearly 82 per cent (81.8 per cent) have had their second and more than 64 per cent (64.6 per cent) have received a booster jab.
