Court: Wickersley man charged with multiple child sex offences

A WICKERSLEY man has appeared in court charged with multiple child sex offences against two girls in the 1970s and 80s.

Mark Andrews (58), of Pinchfield Lane, Wickersley, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Thursday charged with 26 offences, including rape and indecent assault, dating from 1975 to 1984.

He is accused of indecently assaulting a girl and committing acts of gross indecency with her on multiple occassions between 1975 and 1980, when she was aged between seven and 11.

Andrews is accused of raping the same girl between August 1976 and August 1978 and indecently assaulting a second girl between 1977 and 1984, when she was aged between 12 and 19.

He was granted unconditional bail and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on January 7.
