Court: Patient admits assaulting emergency workers who came to his aid

A PATIENT who spat at two ambulance workers who came to his aid will be sentenced in the new year.

Paramedics were called to help Justin Webb (26), of Lilian Street, Rotherham, when he was found unconcious on Clarendon Road at around 10pm last Thursday.

When the ambulance crew arrived on scene he became aggressive and assaulted both emergency workers, a police spokeswoman said.

Webb spat at one 26-year-old ambulance worker in his face and mouth and spat at another 27-year-old and injured his face and jaw, she added.

He pleaded guilty to two offences of assaulting an emergency worker at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded into custody to appear at the court on next Friday, January 3.
