Court: Maltby man found guilty of Christmas Eve sexual assault
A MALTBY man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman and will be sentenced next month.
David Stokes (48), of Yarwell Drive, Maltby, was convicted by a jury of eight women and six men at Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday) of assaulting a woman on Christmas Eve, 2017.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict after deliberating for one hour and 27 minutes, following a three-day trial.
The woman, who is now aged 19, cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Stokes was bailed and is due to be sentenced on July 3.
