Court date for accused in Canklow death crash

A MAN is due to appear at Crown Court this morning charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a crash in which his passenger died.

Richard Balog, aged 24, was arrested after a smash on the A630 Rotherway in Canklow in which his 29-year-old passenger, Jozef Puzo, died.

Balog, who lives in Bradford, was driving a red Toyota Avensis away from the M1 towards the roundabout at the junction with West Bawtry Road when it left the road on a left hand bend.

Mr Puzo, of Russell Street, Eastwood, was thrown from the vehicle during the smash. Balog appeared at Rotherham Magistrates' Court last Wednesday and was remanded in custody to appear at Sheffield Crown Court today.

An inquest on Mr Puzo was opened and adjourned last Thursday.
