Court: Cannabis farmer jailed for £170,000 grow in Rawmarsh

A CANNABIS farmer who was caught growing more than 300 plants at a property in Rawmarsh has been jailed for a year.

Jashar Qevani (26), of Green Lane, Rawmarsh, grew cannabis plants worth an estimated £170,000 across five rooms.

Officers from the Rotherham North Neighbourhood Policing Team found plants at various stages of growth during a drugs bust on May 8.

Qevani, an Albanian national, was jailed for 12 months at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to production of a class B drug.
