Couple attacked by dog in Conisbrough

POLICE appealed for witnesses after a couple were attacked by a dog at Conisbrough.

The pair were on Hill Top Field on Monday (7) walking their own dog, which suffered fatal injuries.

The couple needed hospital treatment for wounds to their hands and arms after the 9.45pm incident.

A police spokesperson said: “The dog that attacked them is reported to have been a large brindle staffy type breed. 

“Its reported owner is described as a tall, skinny woman with dark hair tied in a ponytail. She is believed to have been wearing a black puffer jacket.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness the attack?”

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 967 of September 7.
