Council move fallen trees but borough misses worst of Storm Eleanor

COUNCIL staff had to deal with two fallen trees as Storm Eleanor brought gusts of up to 60mph to Rotherham — but the borough seemed to miss the worst of the weather.

High winds overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning led to a tree falling onto the A633 St Ann’s Road near Rotherham Leisure Centre at 4.35am on Tuesday.

Rotherham Borough Council staff also moved a tree which was blocking Warren Vale Road near Swinton roundabout at 6.38am.
