VOTERS are going to the polls today (Thursday) to elect disgraced councillor Andrew Roddison’s successor.
The Labour councillor for Brinsworth and Catcliffe ward resigned after being convicted of sexual assault.
A by-election in the ward is being held today as well as in Dinnington where voters are choosing a councillor for the vacant seat in their ward.
The candidates are as follows:
Brinsworth and Catcliffe: Shabana Ahmed (Labour), Adam Carter (Lib Dem), John Oliver (Conservative Party), Steve Webster (UKIP) and Bex Whyman (Green).
Dinnington: David Foulstone (Green), Jean Hart (Independent), Lee Hunter (UKIP), Christopher Middleton (Conservative), Steven Scott (Independent), Dave Smith (Independent), Stephen Thornley (Lib Dem), John Vjestica (Labour).
