Cooking related fire and car torched in the Dearne Valley

Three fire crews from Dearne and Adwick stations were called out to the cooking-related fire at a premise on Sankey Square in Goldthorpe, at 1.05am this morning.

No-one was injured in the fire and the cause was deemed to be accidental, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

The crews left the scene at 1.30am.  

Earlier in the evening, firefighters from Doncaster were called to a car fire on Shakespeare Avenue, Sprotbrough, at 7.20pm.

"They came away at 7.55pm and the cause of that fire was believed to have been deliberate," added the spokeswoman.
