Connaught jobs in Rotherham safe

The Rotherham arm of troubled firm Connaught has insisted it is business as usual despite its parent group having just emerged from administration.

The £28 million deal with construction firm Morgan Sindall comes two days after the appointment of KPMG as administrators for the main company, and its subsidiaries

Connaught Partnerships and Connaught Technical Solutions.

Richard Heis, restructuring partner at KPMG and joint administrator, said that the Rotherham branch of the company was continuing as before.

“The Connaught Compliance and Connaught Environmental businesses are unaffected by the appointment and continue to trade normally under the control of their directors and with the support of their lenders,” he said.

In 2008, Connaught acquired the Lowe Group (Holdings) Ltd, based in Rotherham and trading as Necta Ltd, for around £7.5m.

It was later renamed Connaught Compliance Electrical Services and currently employs more than 230 people, including engineers, site inspectors and tutors.
