Community groups need your votes to get hands on cash boost

COMMUNITY groups in the Rotherham area in the running for a cash injection — but they need your vote.

A total of 66 Yorkshire and Humber based groups have all been shortlisted for Skipton Building Society's Grassroots Giving campaign, which this year has £82,000 to donate.

Now they are looking to secure enough public votes to become one of the 164 community groups across the country which will all receive pots of £500.

The good causes from Rotherham and the surrounding area on the shortlist include:

  • Friends in Harmony
  • Friends of St. Georges Churchyard Brinsworth
  • Friends of the Blue Loop
  • Maltby Musical Theatre Group
  • Rotherham Carers’ Forum
  • Tinsley Meadows Primary Academy
  • Valley Knights JFC

Voting is open until Friday, October 13, and can be cast by either going online and visiting or in any Skipton Building Society branch.
