Commercial bin targeted by arsonists

A COMMERCIAL wheelie bin was damaged in a suspected arson attack and a car also caught alight in a separate incident.

Firefighters from Edlington station were called to The Crescent at 1.20am today (Tuesday) and used hose reels to put out the bin fire, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The crew came away just after 1.30am and the fire is believed to have been started deliberately, she added.

The car fire in Holmes last night (Monday) was started accidentally.

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to Ferham Road just after 8.30pm and left the scene just before 9.30pm.
