Civil servants in second walk-out

HUNDREDS of civil servants in Rotherham walked out today for the second time in a month—angry over plans to reduce redundancy pay.

The 24-hour strike by members of the Public and Commercial Services union coincided with Chancellor Alistair Darling’s budget announcement.

The stoppage disrupted Job Centres, courts and driving centres. PCS members struck for 48 hours at the beginning of the month.
