Christmas comes to Mexborough with parade and late-night shopping

LATE-NIGHT Christmas shopping is coming to Mexborough.

The town will have its own festive market every Wednesday until December 21 and dozens of town centre shops will stay open until 8pm on Wednesday.

Mexborough’s official big switch-on takes place this Saturday, with entertaniment from noon, the big parade up Main Street from 4.40pm and the lights being turned on at 5pm, to the sounds of carols from members of Mexborough Life Church.

The festive carnival has been organised by the town’s borough councillors, the Positive Activities Group, Doncaster Council and Mexborough Business Forum.
