Chip pan fire in East Dene was accidental

A CHIP pan fire in East Dene last night (Tuesday) was found to be accidental, fire officials say. 

A crew from Rotherham station was called to Moor Road at 9.30pm.  

The elderly occupant was already out of the property but suffered from slight smoke inhalation, said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

"It was an accidental fire and the crew left the scene at 10.05pm," she added.
