The sections include flower, longest vegetable, vegetable by weight, schools, nursing home, children and more.

A spokesman for the show said: “You don’t have to be an expert to enter. This is a show for people to show off their interests and talents.

“If you fancy entering a particular category or you just fancy having a look round and admire the talents of local people, then please come along to what will be a lovely afternoon.

“We have over 100 categories ranging from fruit and vegetables, different types of flowers, homemade cakes, buns, Lego models, knitting, and crocheting.”

The competition is judged on Maltby Town Council’s standards with independent judges who consider each exhibit on its merit and is open to all residents.

Rosettes, pennants or trophies will be awarded to the winners along with prize money and all children entering will receive a certificate.

There will be a fee of 30p per item for entering, but the show is free to attend.
