Child sex abuse in spotlight at conference

A CONFERENCE to boost children’s social work in the region is taking place today.

The Festival of Social Work at St Mary’s Church and Conference Centre in Sheffield is for social workers employed by the region’s 15 local authorities.

The councils — working as a consortium named Children’s Social Work Matters — aim to share good practice, highlight innovation and boost morale.

Around 200 delegates were expected to attend.
