Child porn help charity launches new campaign

MORE than 30 Yorkshire men have sought help  to stop looking at child porn, according to a new report.

Stop It Now!, a child sexual abuse prevention campaign run by the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, was contacted by 32 men in Yorkshire seeking help to stop looking at indecent images of children between April and August.

These calls make up 6.5 per cent of the 491 calls received from adults concerned about their online behaviour from across the UK over the same period.

A further 14 adults living in Yorkshire rang to express their concerns about the online behaviour of another adult.

The charity has launched a series of films online to Stop it Now! to deter potential offenders by pointing out that there are no grey areas — viewing or sharing a sexual image of someone under 18 is illegal — that child porn is not a victimless crime, and that help is available.
