Charity Macmillan's thanks to tireless volunteers

VOLUNTEERS have been thanked for their tireless work in supporting a charity’s work.

Amy Hebdon, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Rotherham, said the commitment from volunteers in everything from organising events to carrying out collections was vital.

She also called for more people to forward and help out.

Amy said: “Volunteers help us in so many ways, whether it's collecting in a supermarket or helping represent us in the town collecting money and cheques or even giving talks about Macmillan.

“Volunteers’ Week is a great opportunity for us to say a big thank you to all our volunteers for their ongoing hard work and support.

“We do really need some new people to join us across Rotherham, in particular to help us organise events. It can be a great way to meet new people.”
