FORMER Land Girl Doreen Sanderson was toasted on the anniversary of VE Day with a special delivery of afternoon tea.
Forced to celebrate on her own due to coronavirus restrictions, the 91-year-old was delighted when her granddaughter Emma Perry and great-grandson Oscar dropped off the special treat at her Wickersley home.
Emma said: “We made the afternoon together and dropped it off for her, with baked cakes and made sandwiches.
“My grandfather, who fixed Spitfires during the war, sadly passed away a few years ago so she lives on her own.
“We are lucky that she lives down the road from us so we could walk round with it and make her feel part of the celebrations.”
