A CCTV image has been released by officers in Rotherham of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault of a taxi driver in Maltby.

It was reported that at around 9.30pm last Thursday (August 17), a taxi driver was driving four men from the Thrybergh area towards East Dene.

The taxi stopped at an address in Grange Lane, Maltby, where three of the four passengers got out, said a South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman.

"The remaining man is then reported to have assaulted the driver, punching him repeatedly in the face," she added.

"The man was removed from the taxi and the victim was able to drive away."

Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to identify the man in the image as they may be able to assist with enquiries.
