CCTV released after 80-year-old robbed at Rotherham Interchange

POLICE investigating a reported robbery after an 80-year-old had money “grabbed” away from him at Rotherham bus station have released CCTV stills of a man they are keen to identify.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said the victim had been using a passport photo machine at Rotherham Interchange at 9.30am on Wednesday, March 23, when he was targeted.

“It is understood that an unknown individual approached the elderly man, grabbing the money he was holding in his hands and running away," said the spokesperson.

"The victim was not injured.

“The suspect is described as being a white man in his 30s or 40s, of slim build.

“Detectives are now releasing CCTV stills of a man they would like to speak to as part of their ongoing inquiry.

“Do you recognise him? If you have any information that could help officers, please call 101 quoting incident number 293 of March 23."
