Cat on oxygen after tumble dryer fire

A CAT needed medical assistance after a tumble dryer caught fire.

Three fire crews from Rotherham and Elm Lane stations attended the premise on Great Park Road, Kimberworth Park, at 10.15am.

One person was taken to the hospital and a cat was also rescued and given oxygen, a fire service spokesperson said.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally.

The crews came away at 3.25pm.

Firefighters from Edlington, Aston and Doncaster stations were called out to a kitchen fire at 10.30am on Hardie Close, Maltby.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally.

The crews left the scene at 11.35am.
