Cash point smashed on Broom Valley Road

A SMASHED-UP cash machine is still out of action more than a week after it was attacked.

The raiders smashed the ATM outside convenience store McColl’s, on Broom Valley Road, on Easter Day.

The device was still wrecked as of Tuesday — a staff member confirmed that police are investigating.

A police spokeswoman said: “Sometime between 10pm on March 31 and 6am on April 1, it was reported damage had been caused the cash machine at McColl’s store, Broom Valley Road, Rotherham.

“Anyone with information is asked to report it via 101 quoting incident number 213 of April 1.”

She added that the damage was thought to have been done with bricks. No cash was reported missing.

The Advertiser has contacted McColl’s stores’ press team for comment.
