Cash point burned in Brinsworth

POLICE and fire officers are investigating after someone set light to a cash point at a Brinsworth convenience store.

Firefighters were called to Supa Save, on Whitehill Road, at around 4.10am on Saturday, July 28.

Crews from Parkway, Rotherham and Elm Lane attended the business, remaining there for half an hour.

A fire service spokesman said on Monday that the ATM fire was started deliberately.

A police spokeswoman added that an investigation into the circumstances had been launched.

She could not confirm whether any cash was missing from the machine.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 247 of July 28.
