Cars and rubbish set alight in Rotherham overnight

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to three different fires across the Rotherham area overnight.

A crew from Maltby station had been dispatched to a rubbish fire on Blyth Road, Maltby at 10pm last night. They left the scene after 10 minutes.

Firefighters from Rotherham station were then called out to two fires, one in Masbrough and another in Parkgate.

They attended a vehicle fire at 3.15am this morning on Avondale Road, Masbrough, and remained in the area until 3.35am.

Then at 3.35am, firefighters went to Wannop Street, Parkgate, to deal with another vehicle which had been set alight. They came away at 4.10pm.

A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, said all three fires were believed to be deliberate.
