Once inside, they will have to raise £500 bail money in order to be released or face being kept locked up in the cells.

A hospice spokeswoman said: "Upon arrival to their own protected cell, inmates will be fingerprinted, photographed and searched before being put in the hands of the Doncaster prison guards.

"It is then up to them to rally enough support to meet the bail fee which can also be raised ahead of the event through sponsorship forms."

The Advertiser's sales manager, Carol Colley has already agreed to get locked up for the charity.

Carol said: "This is for a really good cause, but I am worried that people will deliberately try and leave me in."
