Car fires in Bolton-on-Dearne and Mexborough

CARS were set on fire in Bolton-on-Dearne and Mexborough overnight.

A crew from Dearne station was called to Melbourne Avenue, Bolton-on-Dearne, at 8.25pm to a car on fire and left the scene at 8.50pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. 

Later, the crew attended a car fire in Cobden Avenue, Mexborough, at 4.40am this morning (Wednesday) and left the scene at 5.35am. 

The cause of the fire was deliberate, added the spokeswoman.
