Car fire in Thurcroft spreads to neighbouring property

A CAR fire in Thurcroft over the weekend ended up being so severe that it spread to a neighbouring property and vehicle.

Firefighters from Maltby station were called to the incident on Moorhouse Drive just after 2am on Sunday morning.

The crew found a Jaguar car well alight, said a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.

"The fire was so severe that there was flame and heat damage to a neighbouring car and the windows of the owner’s property," she added.

"The fire was dealt with by 3.11am and is thought to have been started deliberately."
