Emergency services were called to Church Street, Swinton, at around 2.15am yesterday (Thursday) after a collision involving a grey Citroen Xsara Picasso.

The car ended up on its side and the 35-year-old driver was taken to hospital to be treated for lacerations, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

Her injuries were not described as serious, she added.

Eyewitness Mr Malcolm Godfrey said he was woken by the noise of the collision.

He said the car flipped over in the collision and a telegraph pole had been flattened.
