AN ELDERLY woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a road accident in Moorgate.

The 73-year-old pensioner was detained in Rotherham General Hospital after the incident at 6.30am yesterday in Heather Close at its junction with Moorgate Road.

A silver Peugeot 406 was turning right into Heather Close from Moorgate Road when it collided with the woman, who was crossing Heather Close from the town side of the junction.

The car driver, a 45-year-old man from Doncaster, was unhurt.
