ABOUT 300 cannabis plants were discovered in a vacant shop  in Rotherham town centre.

Police raided the High Street unit last Thursday afternoon.

A force spokeswoman said: “On entering the property they discovered a large cannabis farm with around 300 plans at various stages of growth.

“A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis. He has been released under investigation.”
