Candle caused Mexborough house blaze, fire service says
AN ACCIDENTAL fire at a house in Mexborough is believed to have been caused by a candle.
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were called to Hawthorne Crescent shortly after 1.30am today (Wednesday).
Crews from Dearne, Rotherham and Edlington stations attended. They left the scene just before 3am.
There was also a rubbish fire on Doe Quarry Terrace in Dinnington last night and a blaze on scrubland at Goldthorpe this morning.
