Call for charity collection volunteers in Rotherham for British Heart Foundation

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help with a charity bucket collection in a Rotherham supermarket this weekend, as part of a drive to beat heart disease.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is holding a Heart Stars weekend tomorrow (Friday, February 7) and February 8 — and volunteers are needed to help with a two-hour bucket collection at Rotherham’s Tesco store on Drummond Street.

BHF fundraising manager for Rotherham, Emma Giagnacovo said: “We are asking the people of Rotherham to spare just a couple of hours at their local Tesco store.

“Heart and circulatory diseases are the cause of one in four deaths in the UK, so more research is urgently needed to help us beat heartbreak forever.”

The BHF estimates around 32,700 in Rotherham are living with the daily burden of heart and circulatory diseases.

By funding their research, the BHF aims to find ways to better prevent, diagnose, treat and cure these conditions, as well as to save and improve lives.
