Busy weekend for Rotherham fire crews

AN ARSON attack on a Ford Transit van spread to three other vehicles.

Firefighters were called to Pottery Lane, Rawmarsh, at around 4.30am on Saturday.

A fire service spokeswoman said the blaze spread to a Land Rover, a Ford Mondeo and another Ford Transit van.

Firefighters also dealt with an electrical blaze in the control room of a warehouse on Saturday.

Crews from Rotherham and Parkway were called to the premises on Sheffield Road, Templeborough, at 2.45am and spent almost two hours at the scene.

No-one was injured.

A Citroen Picasso car was also deliberately set alight on High Greave Road in East Herringthorpe on Saturday morning.

A fire crew was called at 5.10am and it took half-an-hour to bring the blaze under control.

Arsonists also torched a van in Wombwell on Sunday morning.

A crew from Cudworth was called out at 4.20am to deal with the blaze on Rose Place and spent just over an hour at the scene.
