Busy week of events planned for Rotherham carers

A CELEBRATION of kind-hearted carers will kick off a week of events offering information and support.

Carers Week runs from next Monday to Sunday, beginning with a Carers Celebration Event at Rotherham Hospital at 10am on Monday.

The annual Carers Week aims to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

Further events include:

  • Crossroads Care Afternoon Tea with Lost Chord at The Wesley Centre, Blyth Road, Maltby, at 1pm on Tuesday. The event is free but booking is essential on 01709 360272. 
  • Carers4Carers Stall at Rotherham Hospital Community Space from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday.
  • Rotherham Council Carers Roadshow at Swinton Library from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday.
  • Carers4Carers Afternoon Tea at Tea Room in High Street, Rotherham at 1pm on Wednesday. Contact Diana Swanson on 01709 370947 to book.
  • Crossroads Care Rotherham trip to Bridlington on Wednesday. Booking is essential and can be made with Liz Hopkinson on 01709 360272. 
  • Rotherham Carers Roadshow at Mowbray Gardens Library, East Dene, from 10am to 2pm on Thursday.
  • Share Pamper Day at the Rain Building in Eastwood Lane, Rotherham town centre, from noon to 3pm on Thursday. Contact Diana Swanson for booking and more information on 01709 370947.
  • Carers4Carers Information stall at Swallownest Court and Ferham Clinic all day on Thursday.
  • Rotherham Carers Roadshow at Kiveton Park Library from 10am to 2pm on Friday.
