Bus smash driver (93) loses fight for life

A 93-year-old man involved in a collision with a double-decker bus in Conisbrough last week has died.

The man, who has not been named, died on Saturday in Doncaster Royal Infirmary where he had been treated for head and leg injuries.

He was the driver of a blue Skoda Felicia travelling on Milner Gate towards the junction with Doncaster Road at around 10.55am last Tuesday.

Police believe he pulled out of the junction and collided with a double decker bus travelling along Doncaster Road before his vehicle hit a wall.

There were no injuries sustained by the bus driver or any of the passengers.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 309 of 11/12/2012.
